So the year is just about half over and we have all heard a boat load of new music.  WHich cd's stand out in your mind thus far?  What cd's are in the early running for the AotY (Album of the Year) award?  The CD's that have stood out the most to me so far are:

Himsa - Hail Horror

Witchery - Don't Fear the Reaper

Vanden Plas - Christ 0

I might be forgetting a few but I am not at my usual desk and without my usual PC, so I don't have a list in front of me.  What CD's stand out to you so far?

I haven't bought any CD's that were released this year. And I'm only looking forward to two albums this year: AFI's "Decemberunderground" and Wintersun's "Time". I'll probably buy The Black Waltz by Kalmah later on. So, in conclusion, I don't know.

Woah, way too many to list. It's almost as if this was 1986 with all the kickass releases. Maybe even better!

What you used to love now, you're gonna adore. With Charmin Ultra, less is more. Cha Cha Cha, Charmin.

Yeah there were a bunch of real good ones so far.

I'd like to add Tool's 10,000 Days to my initial list.  And I know that I will eventually add Persuader's When Eden Burns and Silent Force Walk the Earth.  Most likely Firewind's Allegiance as well.

Throwing Communic into contention.  Loving it.

Also throwing Tears of Anger into the mix.  Singer sounds like Jorn Lande's baby brother.

the new communic album, hands down. i haven't been able to stop listening to it.  rebel meets rebel is also a good change of pace, makes you want to stand over the bbq with a six pack of old mil red labels.
