PEM, is the type of album i'll hope it will be. Even though it was a newer type DM album it was great.

| I hated the drum sound on PEM. I don't mind triggered drums, but damn, that was way too much! Kings Of Carnival Creation is one of my favorite songs from the band though. I thought DCA had a darker atmosphere though. My favorite of the more modern and sharp/technical/brutal sound was SBD. I hope they go back to that but without the synths. Tjodalv was also a machine on that album!

| I also have a feeling that the new album will be more like DCA seeing as they've kind of sold themselves out a bit :/ But seeing as DCA wasn't really that bad in my opinion, it should be fine. Let's just hope that they don't fall into the same steps as Darkthrone with their new album >.<

I doubt that would happen.

| Dimmu never sold out. They became more sharp, but that is not selling out. If that is the case, then Immortal and Mayhem sold out too. Dimmu went in a more metal direction. I don't consider traditional second wave black metal as really being so much in the vein of traditional metal like heavy, thrash and death. Dimmu, Immortal and Mayhem all went in a more traditional vein such as Sodom or Kreator, but more brutal and extreme (although Mayhem did do all the experimentation with GDOW). Darkthrone went in a more punk/crust direction. Very different directions and styles so neither band can be compared at all.

Good point. I always see it like this, with so many line-up changes, a band can't help but change. New members means new ideas and new skills.

| "Dimmu never sold out." I don't understand how you can think that when they played at fucking Ozzfest and have a whole bunch of nu-metal kids on their side now. When I compared them to Darkthrone, I meant that I hope they don't end up going in some shitty punk direction with their new album. Even worse, I'm hoping they don't sound nu-metal.
