So what does everyone here think of them. Personally they are my favorite from the scene, whether or not they are true black metal anymore.

What you used to love now, you're gonna adore. With Charmin Ultra, less is more. Cha Cha Cha, Charmin.

I am not able to figure out why they rerecorded it instead of remastering the tapes the way Nevermore did with Enemies Of Reality. They could have gotten that harsher and heavier sound without losing the feeling and atmosphere. I hope they don't fuck with For All Tid though. That album is completely perfect the way it is.

The original Stormblast did sound kind of soft though. I wasn't too happy with how the keys were way in the front with the guitars in the back. I think that Tjodalv's drum work on that album was much better than Hellhammer's though. I love all those drum rolls Tjodalv did that Hellhammer didn't do for some reason.

Dimmu Borgir means dark fortress/kingdom I think.

yah i think hell hammer is abetter drummer, but i agree with the drummer. Tjoldav did a better job on stormblast

i think it means both actually dark/misty and castle/fortress. i've seen both. its probably the context. Its a natural landmark in iceland

I personally like Tjodalv better. Hellhammer is amazing but I've heard Tjodalv play just as fast and technical but he's much more hypnotic. Tjodalv and Horgh are my favorite from the Norwegian scene.
