I read today that Microsoft will launch the XBOX 360 in the US a couple of days before Thanksgiving. At $399 it sure isn't a cheap console..
If your a gamer, what is your opinion of the price point on the next gen consoles & do you think the XBOX will overtake the next gen playstation?
I'm not a big gamer, so I'm curious.

I'm a Playstation fan myself. I will get the PS3 eventually when but not when it first comes out. For one I won't have enough money (because I believe this system will be up there too in price) and the first batch always has problems. Playstation now how to market there system when ever game from PS1 and 2 are compatable along with controllers ect. Plus I just saw previews for Metal Gear Solid 4 for the PS3 and it looks incredible.
Actually the Nintendo Revolution has me more interested then the Xbox 360.

I've never been much of a gamer, so all systems seem to be too expensive to me. Don't know why I've never gotten into them. As a child I never had anything like Atari, or anything else. I was always outside playing baseball or soccer. I can certainly understand the appeal, though.
Oh, well. That post probably didn't help much. Just trying to keep things flowing.

| I just bought the PS2 and would you know it ,a while after that they announce the ps3 will be coming out !!!!!!!!!i'm just getting back into playing on the thing .For a while all the gaming i did was on my pc . But now my son ,who is seven .has really been getting into it . W3e have a golfing game . hot shots golf & he loves it . I try to steer him away from rpg games & shooters cuz most of them Besides being graphic are really complicated . as far as the xbox . @ that price i'd buy a kid a guitar anyday !!

I guess I'm considered a gamer. I have a Playstation 2 on the front TV, and X-box on the bedroom TV, a red Game Boy, a Blue Game boy and bought a Sponge Bob Game Boy today, Plus have a PSP and a gamefly account. PHEW! I WILL NOT buy a game system at that price. NO WAY! I'll wait till they come down to $150 which is the price I bought my X-box. I only bought the PSP at a higher price because I can watch movies at work on it. (I love my job!) HOwever I have heard the graphics are AMAZING, but as someone who love the original Final Fantasy on the Game Boy I guess I wouldn't really be picky about graphics.

| all of them look interesting thats for sure. i am a hardcore gamer, its all i do, but i suppose id get 360 because its backwards compatible with the games. you can ask misty how hardcore i am lol. i never talk to her because im playing halo 2 all the time

| Yeah, and it's annoying. I used to be more hardcore into video games, like crazy, but yeah... that was when I was a kid. I think I've grown out of them. I don't really have time either. So this XBox 360 looks like a huge waste of money to me. Think of all the women with breast cancer you could be helping with that money!!!
