Metallica... pretty much anything off of And Justice for All or Master of Puppets... Orion is probably my all-time favorite instrumental

Megadeth... Angry Again, Symphony of Destruction, Holy Wars, Hangar 18,Train of Consequences

The transition from "Fear and Wonder" to "Blessings Upon the Throne of Tyranny" by Dimmu Borgir has always blown me away.

I love a lot of Mastodon songs as well.. (Megalodon, Ole' Nessie, Trainwreck, etc, etc.)

I'm a huge sucker for Cristina Scabia's voice from Lacuna Coil as well... and she's drop-dead gorgeous

Opeth - Bleak.  Such a powerful song, lyrically and musically.  Despite the title and subject matter this is actually an uplifting song.

Suspyre - Distant Skies.  The instrumental break is awesome, but especially from minute 3:03 to 3:48.  Those 45 seconds deserve to be played over and over again at full volume.

Death - Scavenger of Human Sorrow, Bite the Pain, Symbolic, Empty Words, Sacred Serenity.  Monster songs from a monster band. 

Iced Earth - The Coming Curse.  My favorite song by this band, awesome main riff.

Testament - D.N.R. (do not resucitate).  Absolutely killer song, so heavy and agressive.  Awesome combination of death and thrash.

Leverage - Dreamworld.  Very addictive and catchy song.  It's very "poppy" but I don't really care.  It brings a smile to my face.

Metallica - Fade to Black (don't flame me!  I was an emo 16-year-old), ...And Justice for All, Orion, Master of Puppets, To Live is to Die, The Four Horsemen

Dream Theater - A Change of Seasons (that song inspired my carpe diem tat), Overture 1928, basically anything from Awake, Finally Free, Hell's Kitchen, You Not Me

Opeth - April Ethereal, When, Demon of the Fall, everything from Still Life, everything from Morningrise (especialy Black Rose Immortal), Bleak, Harvest, The Drapery Falls, Patterns in the Ivy Pt. 2, Windowpane, Ending Credits (sounds silly, doesn't it?), A Fair Judgment (And for the record, nothing from Ghost Reveries affects me this way.)

Nightrage - basically everything from Sweet Vengeance and Descent Into Chaos...those two albums are like hour-long boners for me
