| So, I'm just listening to my first Angel Dust album -- "Bleed". Very thick and chunky power metal.. What are the rest of their albums like? I read that the early stuff is a little thrashier. Is this true?

Bare (3/6/2006)
So, I'm just listening to my first Angel Dust album -- "Bleed". Very thick and chunky power metal.. What are the rest of their albums like? I read that the early stuff is a little thrashier. Is this true? The first 2 cd's were way back in the 80's with a different singer. I couldn't stand that guy, absolutely horrible. Music was pretty cool, though. It was definitley thrash-oriented. Then they broke up for several years before coming back with a new singer. The first cd they recorded with the new line up was Border of Reality. It has some progg-power moments and some traditional metal moments. Bleed came next and is there best, IMO. Not a bad song on there, I think. After that is Enlighten the Darkness and it is very similar to Bleed, although a little heavier overall. Very crunchy and chunky. Lastly is The Human Bondage, and is there heaviest, but it also lacks direction and focus. I heard that the singer wanted to go more "pop" and the rest of the band wanted to head towards death-y metal. The result was rather disappointing, I think. It still contains some great heaviness but, as I stated, was a little unfocused. Hope this helps. Bleed is one of my favorite cd's. I think it is excellent, despite the goofy lyrics and poor grammar. I mean, he pronounces the word "sieze" like "size". There are other examples in there but I am too lazy to look.

You're right Voodoo, they did start out as a thrash metal band. They were even named after the Venom song. Angel Dust, need a shot to get me through the day, Angel Dust want a lot I've gotta get away.
