Well, unfortunately - a coule of mine have been done before but the first one would've been excellent if done ...METAL.
The Vapors- Turning Japanese(i don't count Incubus anywhere near Metal)
The Beatles- Paperback Writer(could be the coolest-heavy-as-hell remake,so much potential!)
The Cars-Moving in Stereo(slowed down-in B-deep vocals would be killer)
How the hell did I get here? Of all the places i could've been Why am I here? Now? In this place? I don't know how I ended up here... and I don't know why... All I know is I am here...Now in this place...And I'm gonna make the best of it by Z-Man

This is a tough one. It's hard for me to think of a song that sounds good the way it is but could be reworked metal-style and still sound good. But after long, tough minutes of thinking about I have come up with the following:
The Cure - Inbetween Days
Janes Addiction - Mountain Song ---> already a little heavy but can you imagine this down by a true metal band? Like, oh I don't know, maybe Testament?
Alanis Morrisette - Uninvited ---> I suggested once a few years ago that Dream Theater cover this one, and I think it could actually work well.

Hmmm, Creedence, eh? That is an interesting choice. Who'll Stop the Rain could work also. It's a slower-paced song than Fortunate Son but maybe a band like Motorhead can speed it up a bit.
