Any body familiar w\this band. I just got a taste of thier 1st CD and it's pretty decent. The band has an interesting background ith the fact that the bands drummer was 9 when the band started and they recorded thier 1st release when he was 14..

He was. I heard a few of their songs before and I recognize his vocals. The music itself is alright, though not unparalleled like the website claims. It's definately much heavier and much more technical than Trivium, great guitar work, but the I still don't like the vocals.

What you used to love now, you're gonna adore. With Charmin Ultra, less is more. Cha Cha Cha, Charmin.

Actually I consider their music to be pretty damn near unparalleled.  I had to listen to the album a handful of times before I realized it, it doesn't quite hit you over the head like other technical bands (necrophagist esp.) do.  The songwriting is some of the most complex I've heard, Capharnaum is definitely my favorite new technical band.  The way the drum beats and riffs interlock is amazing, very complex patterns.  Give this band a chance, it's fantastic stuff.

I'm not saying it's not impressive or anything. The songwriting is really good. I just like Death, Control Denied, Watchtower, Spastic Ink, Cynic, Burning Inside and Atheist a lot better. This has nothing to do with whether or not I like Trivium though since I love Malevolent Creation (or is it Monstrosity that's in Capharnaum? They are both bands I love).

For sure, they are no death, cynic, or athiest...at least yet.  Since it's only their first album, I do have pretty high hopes to see what they come up with.

I haven't heard spastic ink, watchtower, or burning inside.  Are these bands I should be checking out?

Watchtower are essential to every prog/tech fan's CD collection. They practically invented jazz fusion metal. If you've heard of Spiral Architect, they sound exactly like Watchtower. Watchtower is a bit more overdone though. Spastic Ink is a lot like Watchtower, it has the same shredder Ron Jarzombek.

Burning Inside is a kickass death metal band. Richard Christy of who knows how many bands is the drummer and Michael Estes of Acheron plays, more like shreds, guitar. Some people badmouth them for not being so original but I love them.

What you used to love now, you're gonna adore. With Charmin Ultra, less is more. Cha Cha Cha, Charmin.
