Steelreign: Of course I remember partying with you & your lady in Cleveland. That weekend was a nonstop party. And I'm glad you like Hellfueled, but while the boombox was mine, that CD was from the guys in Widow, so you gotta thank them for that

The Aria is a sweet vintage bass, I'd love to buy it. I'm not much of a bass player because my main focus is the guitar, but bass is amazing. I love Duncans... they're awesome. I'm putting some in my SG to add a little more edge. I am a total gear geek. I could go on for hours...

He Steel,
I think I'm going to take a Passadena on Prog Power this year. I'd like to play there for sure, but unless I'm working it or playing it, I probably need to be focussing on getting Icarus Witch on the road & back in the studio.
Who knows, things could change between now & then.

Youv'e gone to prog power a few years in a row, right? I agree, use that time to get some IW material.

Jason -
Well, since you put it THAT way, I guess I can let it slide.... haha! Some new material is paramount to vacationing..... we'll miss you though, dude. Good times!!
Hopefully someday, we'll see you up there at PP. I'll jump on Glenn to try and get you in there somehow. Hell, we've sponsored two bands already - why not a third?
Metal on!

Hey Cthulhu,
Since many of your posts are Bass related, I'm going to answer them here, although as an amateur moderator, I'm not sure how to move your actual topic into this one or how to show the quote, I tried using those shortcuts, but must've done something wrong because it just shows the code. ANYWAY
You asked:
"I got a question. When you first started playing did you start out on guitar or bass?
I picked my poison and went with bass and people always tell me it's never a good idea to just start on bass.. which I think is crap. I have a good knowledge of theory and I haven't ever seen the point to jump on guitar and go through the hassle of learning all of that. I mean I can hold my own on a basic 6 string but I'm no guru. As far as composing goes.. I've always just used my brain, a pencil, and either a composing program like Finale or a piano.
What do you think?"
To which I would reply: I too started on 4 string electric bass guitar & never looked back. I enjoy playing keyboards too, but as for 6 string, I know enough to get my point across, but from an early age, I realized there were an abundance of guitarists around and never enough bassists, so for the practical aspect, you stay employed easier. Not to mention I just love the sound of good bass & the way it can make a room vibrate, regardless of what genre.
