The_Quadfather (5/23/2008)
Queen_Diamond (5/23/2008) I don't think I've seen Vacancy, but I will soon enough now. We skipped Zombie Lake for a little flick called The Toxic Avenger. A movie we all know and love, I'm sure. There are so many incredibly cheesy lines in this movie that I can't choose a favorite. The weight room kill is pretty bad ass too. All around hilarious movie....blindness is biss?

I am going to have to revisit The Toxic Avenger, as it has apparently been WAY TOO LONG since I have seen it.

I'll have to watch that one again as well. The paranoid baddie is hilarious.

The whole movie is hilarious.  We plan to watch the second Toxic Avenger soon.  We watched Zombie Honeymoon last night and it wasn't worth the time we put into it.  I would not recommend this one.  There wasn't even a kill scene until about the last 30 minutes of the movie.

Any good?

I watched The Prophecy on IFC the other night.  It had been a while, but the re-watch reminded why I liked that movie.  The whole idea is well conceived.  Not to mention Christopher Walken is great!

Well I spent most of the holiday weekend watching movies...

Inside was really really fucked up. One of the most disturbing movies I've seen. It doesn't help that I watched it alone, in the dark, and at about 2am before bed. =P That's how real men do it.

Diary of the Dead (newest part of the Night/Dawn/Day/Land series) was really really terrible. It was done in the documentary style (ie. Blair Witch, Cloverfield). Bad acting. Within about 30 minutes you really hope that all of the characters die. There were little narrations of social commentary about desensitiazation to violence and whatnot, but that all came across really contrite since there are plenty B-movie horror violence sequences like a mute Amish guy sticking a scythe through his head in order to stab the zombie on his back.

Also went to see the second Chronicles of Narnia movie. It was pretty good. Anyone that liked the first one will probably like this one. The only really annoying thing about this one was a couple of the new characters had shitty Antonio Banderrrassss accents.

My girlfriend recommended watching Running Scared. Totally totally over the top gritty-crime-action flick. A kid steals a gun that was used to kill some crooked cops and then the kid shoots his Russian meth-head dad because his dad beats him for talking shit on John Wayne. So then the kid runs away and immediately gets abducted by a crazy homeless guy, saves a whore from pimp, then gets kidnapped by super creepy-happy child molesters... It's one of those ridiculous "movie cities" that reminds me of something like Grand Theft Auto where you have no idea why anyone would live there or how anyone is even still alive due to the 24-7 crime wave.

I was gonna Netflix The Toxic Avenger, because I don't think I've ever seen it, but for some reason they have all of the movies in the series except the first one available.

I hear that the fourth one is good, or so I've been told.
