My oldest daughter Caroline is 7 today. Having 2 daughters is gonna be tough as they get older and when all the boys start discovering them, and it is starting sooner than I would like. Found out the other day that a boy that is in her first grade class and on her soccer team thinks she is "hot". I'm gonna have to keep my eyes on him.

| Happy birthday to your lovely daughter! I saw her picture in another thread; what a doll! Your story reminds me of when I was young. A boy called my house when I was in first or second grade and my dad answered the phone and yelled at him. Don't be that dad.

| You should definitely be that dad. Even when I was a baby, I had dirty thoughts on my mind (granted, I was raised watching Married With Children). I even grabbed a woman's ass when I was like 15 months old (I hear this story all the time), and I had/have a huge thing for Christie Brinkley and Cindy Crawford. This kid sounds a lot like I did at that age If you need help to be that dad, just watch Married With Children reruns. Besides, that's probably part of the fun of being a dad. Think of it this way, do you really want your daughter to hang out with a 6 year old version of myself? A chauvinistic, pretentious asshole, that would probably cheat on her when she's not looking?

Trust me, I will keep things in check as she gets older and guys start hanging around and calling at all hours of the night. I, too, was one of "those" guys.

But from a girls perspective, I wouldn't have had any thoughts like that throughout my teenage years if my dad didn't constantly reminded me of the consequences. I couldn't date until I finally moved out of my parents house. Between my dad and my brothers, guys didn't have a chance, which just made me shut my dad out, lie, sneak out at night, and etc. I think you get my point. My dad didn't trust the "guys" he said, but that's not who he needed to put his trust in.

Just remember to also teach your son whatever he needs to know about women. You know, like faking honesty and sincerity with mindless flattery (especially zeroing in on areas where you think the woman might be the most self-conscious about), which usually works
