I guess my favorite genre is prog metal, but power, thrash and death are right up there, too.

Currently some of my favorite bands include:

Suspyre, Icarus Witch, Dream Theater, Opeth, Death, Silent Force, Excalion, Arch Enemy, Spheric Universe Experience.  I listen to so many bands during any given week it's hard to pick out the ones that get the most air time, but recently it's been Suspyre easliy topping the short list.

Speed, thrash, power metal (actual power metal, not all the pansy shit that unfortunately, passes off as power metal these days) and the first wave of black metal are my favorites. Then I would say prog.

In the past year, I've gotten rather sick of black metal in general, except for a few newer bands, and the earlier second wave bands. Same with folk metal

What you used to love now, you're gonna adore. With Charmin Ultra, less is more. Cha Cha Cha, Charmin.

Mix of black, doom and folk! Lately more doom metal.
But most i listen to power/heavy/prog, just for catchy and speedy melodies, love fast riffs. But the philosophy and ideology in lyrics of black, doom and folk metal is the thing i'm seeking in metal music, and of course music(drum work, riffs and harsh vocal).

I would probably say traditional metal, but since that isn't an option, I'll go with death.  \m/

I went with folk, even though power, gothic, and pagan aren't too far behind.

Insanity takes its toll, so please, have exact change.
