I saw these guys with Devil Driver and Trivium about a year ago and it was less than inspiring. I haven't listened to any of their albums because the show was pretty bad.

Queen_Diamond (11/25/2006) I saw these guys with Devil Driver and Trivium about a year ago and it was less than inspiring. I haven't listened to any of their albums because the show was pretty bad.OMG.. don't let their fallings of late deter you from their earlier material... That shit is awesome.. The Jester Race Whoracle Colony I even liked "Clayman"... I think as a whole.. ."Colony" is probably my favorite album from them.

Clayman was/is my favorite. Colony is damn good, too. However, I agree with Queen. At Ozzfest 2005 their set was rather dull. Part of it had to with the fact that they were the opening band for the main stage and there was hardly anyone there, yet. Part of it had to do with the crappy sound.

| I thought Soundtrack to Your Escape sucked pretty bad, and there was so much hype about how Come Clarity was going to be a "return to the roots" and be so much heavier and better than Soundtrack, but I thought Come Clarity sucked just as much. I definitely dig Jester Race, Clayman, Whoracle, and Colony... I'm gonna say Clayman is probably my favorite. Reroute to Remain was actually the first In Flames CD I picked up, and I still like that one even though it was the precursor to the sound of the stuff they're putting out now. I thought they sucked when I saw them on Ozzfest, mostly because they only had a 20 minute set full of mostly Soundtrack to Your Escape Songs. Plus the big appeal of the Ozzfest main stage is the "show" as far as the lights and stage setup, but they didn't really have any of that since it was still daylight and they were the opener. However, I also saw them in a lot smaller venue on the tour for Reroute to Remain, and I thought that was one of the best shows I've seen. "Behind Space" was totally bad-ass live, and I always think of that show when I hear it.

Whoracle is definitely the best one for me. Colony is a very close second. I think those two were when the band was at their peek.
Clayman was very good as well.
Jester Race was pretty good, but also lacking. They sounded way too "safe". The parts on the album where they started to let loose, they sounded sort of sloppy.
Lunar Strain was better than Jester Race and also sounded pretty different than any of their other stuff. The music was a lot darker.
Reroute actually had a few good songs on it. I still like a few of the songs off that album, and it was the album which introduced me to In Flames.
Soundtrack had a couple of good songs, but the majority of that album was pure shit. Same with Come Clarity.
I've seen them live a couple of times and they put on a great live show. Anders sounds a lot better live than he did on the last 2, maybe even 3, albums. It's also great when they play the old stuff. The newer stuff actually works in alright with their older stuff.
