Just curious as to others opinon of "In Flames"?  Do you like the newer stuff -or- the older stuff?  Do you like them at all?  What do you think the upcoming record "Come Clarity" will be like?

Personally, I much prefer the old stuff...  "The Jester Race" through "Clayman"...

Just curious..

I think they are incredible. Though their older stuff is better.

I heard some samples from Come Clarity on the Nuclear Blast European site. It sounds pretty promising but it has the crappy production from the last two albums. Reroute actually had guitar harmonies and all that stuff, not as much as the older but it still had it. It was just drowned by that muddy/grungy production. I hope the new album's production sounds better than the samples do. Other than that, I'll probably buy it when it comes out.

What you used to love now, you're gonna adore. With Charmin Ultra, less is more. Cha Cha Cha, Charmin.

The older the better. Clayman and Colony are my 2 fav's. Reroute to Remain and Soundtrack to your Escape are pretty much forgettable in my opinion. They also did not do too well at Ozzfest. I was very disappointed with the "show" they put on. Could have been poor because they were first on the main stage and there were not too many people listening. I felt kinda bad for them, but on the other hand they were pretty flat.
I am very interested in hearing the new stuff, but I am not expecting a masterpeice.

Of this style of band (Swedish Melodic death metal) I think I prefer Soilwork and Dark Traquillity over In Flames.  In Flames was the first I heard and really listened to but the other bands quickly overtook them.  Although, I really do think Clayman is an incredible cd.

I much prefer the older stuff!  The only bummer is that their set lists now only include things off of Soundtrack, and Reroute to Remain. (Trigger kicks ass)!  At Ozzfest 05, they only played Pinball Map, in my opinion is the weakest song on clayman.  I really do not expect much from their new release in February.  I think we have seen the best of In Flames

I also believe that their best is in the past.  Fortunately, I got to see them a few years back, when the older tunes were still dominating the set list
