| A band that has never played together.....hmmmmmmmmmm Sounds like the "band" I was in back in the mid-90's. I was the lead air-guitar player and my best friend was air bass player. We rocked.

I have recently picked up the viola in addition to the violin, and I have found the two instruments remarkably similar. The two instruments have one string of difference between them. The viola has a low C string whereas the violin does not, and the violin has a high E string whereas the viola does not. The viola uses music in the alto clef, of which I gained experience in reading in music theory class last year. I find making the transition from violin to viola very easy.
