Nodbody's mentioned Waylander yet? They're an Irish folk metal band with a couple of albums out now and another one expected to be out this year. The albums out now are Reawakening Pride Once Lost and the Light, the Dark, and the Endless Knot. The new album scheduled to be out this year is called Honour Amongst Chaos.

Another band that deserves a mention in the folk category is Germany's Saltatio Mortis. They're a band that is bagpipe-heavy and likes to utilize other medieval instruments.

I avoid folk metal bands period.
