So no thanks to Jason .. I've fallen in love with these guitars... The bodies are just too damn sexy for me. The first Aria I bought was sweet... so I thought.. hmm... what the hell, it's now completely rewired and sounding amazing... Now I bought another explorer, only 6-string this time so I can have a matching bass and guitar set.. I have future plans to continue modding both of them.. But the bass is keeping the original pickups, something about those duo-coils.. Nice rock tone to me... little noisy, but good tone.
I finally got off of my ass and started taking lessons again. Found a really cool teacher who plays with a local symphony doing this "Zeppelin with Strings" thing and has his own band. It was really hard trying to find someone who wasn't going to try to change everything I've built myself up on all this time. And I'm a firm believer in there being more than one way to do something on a guitar (unlike a lot of 'teachers' I've met.) He has a clip of one of his songs on the School's website. (http://austinschoolofmusic.com/faculty.html) Just scroll through the faculty list and find Glenn Rexach. Pretty cool bluesy tune.

You're an addict. I relate.
I seem to recall Vivian Cambell using one of those Arias on Dio's "Special From The Spectrum" video. I think it even lit up, like with fiber optics or lasers or something. Maybe I'm remembering it differently, been awhile since I saw that.
I have an Alcatrazz poster in my studio where a young Yngwie "Fender Strat" Malmsteen is holding an Aria, but it's not the Explorer model.

Just got the guitar and I am impressed. 6-strings feel like I'm going to break them.. but the previous owner kept this sucker in good condish. I broke a string the first 10 minutes.. but they were the old ones that were on it so it's not a big deal... I was hammering the shit out of it to see what I've gotten myself into. The pickups are incredibly nice and 80's sounding (but what did anyone expect? lol) I practically live at guitar center and I played on a few Gibson Explorers a few weeks back and they just felt funny to me. Aria does a nice job of taking existing guitars and just making them better.. I guess that's what the company is built around.. It's nice.
My rig is almost complete..... well for bass anyway... Just need to save up for a decent head.. which is tough since I need to be saving up for a decent Pro-Tools home recording system..

| Another Aria fan! I own several of them myself and I love them. They are all originally equipped and are ass kickers.
