Most of you don't know me all that well, and this site's mostly about metal so that's mostly what I talk about but I listen to a lot of other stuff...

For instance, I have 6 Talking Heads albums. I really like those a lot. 9 albums and a bunch of rarities by Beck, which was the first live show I ever saw, by the way... 6 albums by Radiohead. 9 albums by Ween... very weird, but awesome stuff.

I've got a whole bunch of rap CDs as well. My fav rapper is Kool Keith who has also put out CDs under the name of Dr. Octagon, Dr. Dooom, and Mr. Nogatco. Weird as hell, but I love it. Huge fan of the Beastie Boys, have all their albums. Also like Wu-Tang Clan and some of the solo Wu-Tang stuff. I've got some of the old shit too, like some Run DMC albums and EPMD.

Uhh... I've got some electronica stuff that I listen to quite often as well, like The Crystal Method, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, etc.

Probably the one I'd say sticks out most is Dummy by Portishead. It's sorta trip-hop with jazz styled female vocals. That's like my chillout rainy day CD right there.

Shark Island - "The Law Of The Order".

This album is still one of my favorites of all time.

Kenny Wayne Shepard

Blues guitar virtuoso.  Started out when he was real young.  I have his first 2 CD's, and while the songs are pretty standard fare for modern electrified blues you can hear he has talent.  Think of a young Stevie Ray Vaughn.

I'm mainly a metal gal, but I do have a couple of CDs that really don't fit in with the rest of my collection.  I like a lot of classic rock, stuff like Stevie Ray Vaughn, drum corps music, and I do enjoy a good classical piece from time to time.  But I would have to say that the CD I get the strangest looks because of is Dwight Yoakam's acoustic album.

1. How did you come by acquiring this CD?
I bought it while working at a music store.

2. Is it something you used to listen to often, or still do?
I used to listen to it pretty frequently when I was in high school.

3. What about it did you like that led you to acquire it, or keep it?
We played it in the store when it came out and I became attached to it.  The music was so upbeat but his voice was so haunting, and I really liked that contrast.  Eventually I decided to buy the album and I still have it six years later.

4. etc.
I was on a country music kick for about 6 months in my senior year of high school because of this album, but not the crap-ass Toby Keith and Alan Jackson stuff.  It was more older country and really depressing stuff.
