I work for a small university and we have recently extended our campus to another state. Cost of communication between the two campuses has become a major issue. I am now researching VoIP solutions. Our current system is Mitel (Superset 4025, to be specific) and Mitel offers VoIP, but after meeting with the sales rep, I feel that in the end we would get screwed because of all the plug-ins you have to buy to have this capability. I think it might be cheaper to go with a whole new system. So, has anyone had any experience with a Mitel upgrade to VoIP? I am also evaluating Cisco VoIP solutions.
Any feedback, personal experiences, suggestions, or heresy is appreciated.
