| Just share stories on what albums got you into music and metal. I remember back in late 1995 seeing a Smashing Pumpkins video one day. Later that week, my dad took me out and we bought "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" that was one of the few things my dad and I got to do one on one back when I was young due to my moms drinking, so it meant alot to me. That next month he showed me "Pretty Hate Machine" by Nine Inch Nails. Basically I listened to that and a few others for the next few years(like RHCP). Then when I was about 9, this stoner kid named CJ who lived on my block (I think he was like 13 or 14 and God knows why I hung around him) he showed me his copy of "The Number of the Beast" by Iron Maiden. I was thrilled with the cover and asked him if I could borrow it. He said if I gave him 8 dollars, I could have it for good. The rest is history, Iron Maiden have been my favorite band since that day. Then I just kept going from there.

| I started Young... WAY young! I was 5 yrs old when one of my older cousins got me into KISS. Being a Kid I thought they just looked Cool BUt then I actually went and got their ALBUM (YES album) my first album Kiss ALIVE . It came with a poster of the band and from their on it was just KISS MANIA . Became a full blown Member of the KISS army at 9 yrs old. AND at about that time I started listening to the local stations AND I came across a ROCK station. That is when my taste for metal soon developed I listened to every Band I could Ozzy , Van Halen, led zeppelin. After I heard Crazy Train for the first time I became hooked on Randy Rhoads stuff. BUt id say it was the local scene in San Antonio back then that got me into METAL. bands like Watchtower and wyzard and HELSTAR . Too many to name and way to many to remember . Almost every band that came out I had their album or cassette , Maiden,Metallica,Megadeth,Testament,Venom , Slayer,anthrax,metal church. The list goes on and on. AND STILL GROWING >> hehehe

Not that we can't continue this discussion here, but there was a thread a few months ago on the same subject, in case anyone wants to go back and view those repsonses, mine included.

When I downloaded AIM triton almost a year ago now, it came with a radio feature. I browsed through the channels and came across the Metallica station. I remembered hearing about this band "Metallica" and that they were good (plus, the name is cool), so I turned on the station. The audio quality sucked, but i didnt realize that at the time because I never really listened to music before that. So I guess it was AOL that got me into metal and music. The only good thing AOL has ever done for me

| well what got me into music was when i saw my cousin playing guitar. then he made me a mix of punk songs on a cd. i got into metal wen a friend made a mix with various bands and gave me a helloween shirt for free cuz he didnt want it.
