The Sword put on a good live show. I get to see them a second time when they stop in Sioux Falls later this month.

Yeah, the newest Sword album is one of my fav releases of the year so far. I also decided to knuckle up and get Metallica tickets when I heard The Sword was opening. I hadn't heard the new Metallica album yet, so it was a gamble, but the new album is good so now I'm excited.

A good band to check out if you like The Sword is Earlyman.

THE best Doom metal band today. I like to say their a cross between Sabbath, Zeppelin, and Mastodon [only the lyrics for the Mastodon part :D]

I'm honestly going to the Metallica show for The Sword, but Metallica's new album was awesome....so yeah.

Sword slays all! I agree with an earlier post that The Sword sound like a mix between High On Fire and Pentagram. I saw them live and they actually did a Pentagram cover. The song escapes me right now, but their live show was intense. They slayed! If you haven't picked up Age Of Winters do yourself a favor and run to your music store and grab this slab of brutality. Old school Sabbath.

I've got Age of Winters on vinyl and it's one of the best albums of last year, in my opinion. Haven't seen them live yet, but I know people who have and they speak highly of the experience.

I finally got their album. Its actually pretty good. I don't understand why so many trendy people who would never listen to this kind of music love this band so much but oh well. At least there listing to decent music. The album kind of got old for me but I listen to it like for a month straight. I'm sure if I go revisit this album in a few months I'll dig it again.

Go buy "Age of Winters" right now! It is awesome! It's like High On Fire meets Pentagram! I saw them live, too, and they rocked. I met them all and got their autographs. They are very cool and super nice.

I dig the Sword too. When I worked at a used music store, we used to get to pretty much play whatever we wanted after closing time so I checked that out. Very, very Sabbathy. Also, I recommend checking out the band Early Man if you like The Sword. Another throwback Sabbath-sounding band, with some thrash influences as well. "Death is the Answer to My Prayers" a good example. So I heard about this band out of Austin (hello, DZ!!) called The Sword. I heard a sample [url=http://www.kemado.com/site/media.php?req=show&artist=8]here[/url] and it is rockin! Very doomy, ala early Sabbath. Indeed, that is the band they are most compared to. I hear it. This sample is as riff-laden as anything from Iommi in the early years.
