That intro gets me sooooo antsy . . . and then it just barrels over you until it ends, leaving (me, at least) totally unfulfilled. *sigh*

While the World Awaits - Tunnelvision. It's an 11 minute song yet it still feels like it's much too short. The instrumental sections could be extended significantly and I wou;dn't even notice. Beautiful music.

I apologize for this selection not being metal in any way, but I just had to add it:

Pretty much anything by Bruce Springsteen. Been listening to some of his more recent music and I was reminded thow much I enjoy almost everything he does. The man can weave a story. Period. Plus, the music behind the lyrics is generally magnificent. He's had a few clunkers but for the most part I get a little disappointed when a song of his ends. They just are not long enough for my taste.

I was trying to think of a Savatage song that fits in this thread, and the one that jumps out at me is Ghost in the Ruin. Or Hounds. I love the solo's in both those songs and I wish they had been extended a little longer.

I'm bored at work today so I thought I would make lists. Didn't matter what the subject was, just started making lists. One of those lists is songs that are so good that I just don't want them to end. Here are a few I have so far.....

Eyes of a Stranger - Queensryche
When the Water Breaks - Liquid Tension Experiment
Octavarium - Dream Theater. Even though this song is already 24 minutes long, I could still enjoy another 10-12 minutes of it.
Deliverance - Opeth
Hallowed be thy Name - Maiden
Carouselambra - Led Zeppelin. Everytime I hear this song end, I think, "that's it??"
Diary of a Madman - Ozzy

Of course, there are other non-metal songs I could add to that list. But I'll save that for another thread.
