Exodus toured in 2005 but i wasnt really into them at that time but i have now re-discovered them.....they played on a double bill that night with the haunted who i have never really been into. A lot more metal bands tour australia now as our aussie dollar is not too bad up against the american dollar so many bands are able to make some profit from touring here but in the late 80's & early 90's hardly any metal bands toured here.

Did Exodus play "toxic waltz"?

Yeah, we had a blast. One of the better shows I've been to.

You Aussie's are getting some better shows recently I think. Won't be long before thrash legends start making their way down there.

Bloody lucky guys u are....................i would kill for a lineup like that to tour australia but it will never happen...........sounds like u guys had a killer time & to see Exodus at there best which they are now would be brutal.

I think Exodus played some old ones, but I'm not sure which ones. I'm not too familiar with their back catalog.

Arsis did not have a separate singer. James did guitar and sang. Did a good job, too, I thought. At one point he joked the he had bigger tits than some of the girls in the audience (he's not fat by any means but he's no toothpick, either.

Did Arsis have a seperate singer for this show? Their albums have the lead guitarist on vocals. The last time I saw them (and the time they came here before that which I missed), there was something about the lead's vocals that had them bring along a seperate vocalist for shows. I think it was the same guy both shows. They didn't do that the first time I saw them. Honestly, they were actually better live with a devoted vocalist, leaving James to focus on guitar. Their drummer, I think, had 4 snare drums the last time I saw them. During drum check, the sound tech goes, "Snare 2, check" and the guys next to me and myself looked at eachother like "what the hell? snare 2?" and then came snare 3 check and I think there was a fourth. At least one was up on his tom rack. I had never seen that before.

Goatwhore tours like fucking mad. They're alright, but I'm a bit jaded towards their live show because I think I've seen them 7 times. And it's never been at a show I've gone to specifically see them, they just end up on the supporting bill for other bands I like because they tour constantly.

Did Exodus play any old songs or just off the last two albums with Rob on vocals?

I'm pissed I didn't bring my camera, too. There were some real good photo ops last night. While Exodus was on I went to the back bar to give my ears a rest and a guitar player from Rumplestiltskin Grinder was there along with 3 guys from Arsis, a couple from Demolition Faction, and the singer from Warbringer. I chickened out on striking up any further conversation with all of 'em.

At one point he noticed Exodus guitar player Lee Altus checking out Burn the Earth so he snuck backstage to shake his hand. He also started helping bands unload after the sets. He talked a lot with Demolition Faction and scored a free CD. He also talked with got to shake Exodus bass player Jack Gibson's hand. I got to chat very briefly with Arsis bass player NOah Martin and Goatwhore's lead singer.

Awesome show. Totally worth getting out at 1 AM and having ringing in my ears that will probably last about 4 days.[/quote]

That is a great mix of bands. You will have to let us know how it turns out. I hadn't heard about those bands touring together until this post. It looks like your show is the only time Rumpelstiltskin Grinder is joining that tour. Lucky!

Exodus show Saturday Night

Tomorrow night I'll be heading out to see Exodus with Goatwhore, Arsis, Warbringer, Rumplestiltskin Grinder, and a few others. I'll probably skip out on the first few bands. I hope to get there in time to see Warbringer. Really looking forward to a night of supersonic headbanging.
