There is nothing wrong with my perspective of metal i just think COB are boring & there r better bands out there who should be getting the attention they are getting.

I like older Bodom one million times more than the new stuff. I don't think Alexi's 'party-hardy' attitude is helping him play any better, either. The past couple of times that I've seen them, his playing has been shoddy. And I mean, come on...just listening to crap like "Punch Me I Bleed" makes one realize just how far down the tubes they've gone. Bring back an album like Hatebreeder and I'll start paying attention again. I realize just how unlikely that is...I doubt Alexi can write material like that anymore, let alone play it live.

CoB lost their ways in their new album... I actually hate it. There is not one song on there I enjoy to listen to. They were good but as they progressed and became more maintstream they lost their touch. Alexi Laiho dyed his hair dark brown. not black dark brown. He stood out before bybeing the shortest of the band but now he looks stupid. Still like their old stuff. Best album Something Wild. All original. But Kalmah is better than CoB in my opinion.

I don't like Trivium or Bullet for My Valentine, but I think CoB is pretty good...

However I think Alexi is pretty faggity looking, especially on stage. He does a really annoying cheezy '80s hair flip a lot.

Hey personaly I more or less agree about everything all of you are saying except that if you really read into the complexity of the riffs that he plays not so much for the solos but hey I can't play 5 frets down can you? in fact I can only name a few that can pretty impressive. anywho glad to see I sparked something hehaw

Dimmu Borgir, that would've been a great show! I would usually agree with you on the "yow yow yow", but Alexi's stage presence makes it fine by me. I do agree that he's a bit overrated, but he's still a good guitarist. The only thing I really dislike is that they are becoming more and more mainstream, and the crowd they're drawing is not my choice audience. I want either brutal crowds or extreme geeks, and COB picks up all the inbetweens. And lots of sluts who want Alexi's balls. I think you know how I feel about sluts. ;)

I saw them when they opened for Dimmu Borgir. They were fun to see, but I didn't think they were really that great. The most talented guy in the band is Janne, by far. I think Laiho is really overrated. His solos aren't really all that special. I also hate his vocals. Besides that the way he sounds gets on my nerves, that "yow yow yow" thing he always does, :sick:

I like COB, and all of their shows I've seen have been really tight. There's not much depth in the lyrics, but there's just something about the way Alexi holds his guitar that keeps me coming back for more. ;)

I like some of their older stuff, but I prefer Kalmah, Norther, WIntersun etc.
To me, Bodom always sounded like Stratovarius, but more extreme, no virtuosity in the guitar work and crappy vocals.
I also hate Alexi Laiho, so that is part of it as well.
