SWEEET. I am no longer a measly customer service associate. I shall henceforth be known as an Outside Lawn and Garden Associate... Notice how I capitalized my new title. It is worthy of it. I hope this is a portent of my future ascension at Lowe's Home Improvement. Maybe one day I will rise to become the CEO or District Manager or something. That would be neat.

RE: To Avoid a Boring Thread Title I Will Use This One Instead....

I have been using MA for four or five years as a resource and started submitting reviews there.... roughly 2 and half years ago. Some of the people weren't originally staffers but got addded because they posted on the forums all the time anyway. :P

I've been posting a few of my reviews to Metal Archives with a link to LFM as a footnote to try and cross-advertise to get new people to check out our site. I really love that Encyclopedia Metallum site though. The only other website I check out with any frequency is Blabbermouth because I know Scott, one of the review writers.

If you're interested in writing reviews for our site, you should send a private message to Bare. Usually the drill is to submit a review of something you liked and then a review of something you weren't too hot on.

RE: To Avoid a Boring Thread Title I Will Use This One Instead....

Welcome to LFM!

RE: To Avoid a Boring Thread Title I Will Use This One Instead....

Welcome!

RE: To Avoid a Boring Thread Title I Will Use This One Instead....

I like how everyone is a reviewer or staffer of the site.

RE: To Avoid a Boring Thread Title I Will Use This One Instead....

Hola and welcome aboard!!!
RE: To Avoid a Boring Thread Title I Will Use This One Instead....

Welcome!

RE: To Avoid a Boring Thread Title I Will Use This One Instead....

Hey man, welcome to the site

RE: To Avoid a Boring Thread Title I Will Use This One Instead....

Who wouldn't want to listen to Negura Bunget? Om is amazing. They are a band heading in new and amazing directions with each release. Somehow I think that their next one will top Om. They have done it with every album so far, each one being better than the previous. I'll admit that I do need to listen to their first two albums more though, I have the trilogy box set and have never REALLY given the early albums as much attention as I gave to Om. Sounds like something I will do this weekend actually.

RE: To Avoid a Boring Thread Title I Will Use This One Instead....

Nice! I am 20 and live in New Jersey about 5 minutes from the Starland Ballroom. I am a HUGE metal fan. Doesnt matter what Genre or what style, if its good music I will enjoy it. My first metal album that I heard was probably Guns and Roses - Appetite for Destruction. I sneaked it from my dad when I was 8 years old just to listen to Paradise City and Welcome to the Jungle. Grew from there. The first album I bought was Metallica - Kill Em All. I heard Cliff Burton and immediately took up bass.

To get a bit more in depth in my listening... I tend to listen to a lot of black metal and a whole heaping load of traditional metal. Maybe a weird combo? I don't know. Though I like a lot of death metal, doom and power metal also. Bands: Manowar, and Negura Bunget. Opeth, Heathen, Death, Suffocation, Drudkh, Burzum, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Iced Earth. Recently: Iniquity (Serenadium = pure death metal masterpiece), Icarus Witch, Zuriaake, Znowhite / Cyclone Temple (Ian Tafoya is amazing! TO THE LAST BREATH!!!!) Sunn o))), Earth - (I absolutely love Hex and Hibernaculum)

The best metal concert I have ever attended would either be Iced Earth or Iron Maiden when they played with Motorhead and Dio. Both shows made me cry. So awesome. The Iced Earth show was RIGHT after Barlow left and Ripper Owens filled in. He did a great job with the classic material. Its a shame that the newer stuff hasn't been nearly as good as the older IE records. I also have played a bunch of shows with my band, Arctic Flame. Highlights would include playing Keep It True VII in Germany - awesome crowd - and a lot of the recent shows we've done at home. Especially the two shows with Doro when we had some really crazy metalheads in the audience enjoying every moment. Check us out at www.arcticflamemetal.com!

I also frequent the Metal archives forum as well as the Zero Tolerance Magazine forum. I am also interested in possibly writing reviews. I have done a bunch for Metal Archives in my free time but I would like somewhere else to submit them to also. A website like this one would be a great place to start.
