i noticed that too. i can sometimes write stuff myself. poetry sint my strong point but i love writing silly nonsense short stories :D

Ya know, it took me a long time before I began to appreciate growling vocals. For the first few years of listening to metal it was more like hard rock than metal. Then I began to listen to more metal but Megadeth and Metallica were as close as I got to growlers. Then I decided to give those other types of bands a try and I have become a fan. I still prefer a guy who can actually sing, but the cookie monster vocals have a place as well.

So, with a name like poetflint I assume you are a writer/poet? If so, start a topic (well there may already be a poetry one - can't remember) and post some of your stuff, if you don't mind. I love a good poem. I have written a few in years past, though they were not very good.

Melodic Opera Metal !! Sounds like you have some great tatse :P
I feel the same way you do about Cookie Monster vocals and growls ..I just have not Found a band that I can listen to long enough with out disliking.
As far as the Stuff I do like you should check out the new stuff on here bands like Circus Maximus,Icarus witch and Pagans mind to name a few .

2. Where do you live? Northeast PA
3. What got you into Metal? my cousin Keith
4. Your first metal album? hmmm not sure either kill em all by Metallica or one of Strypers albums or maybe it was Metal Health by Quiet Riot one of those 3
5. Genres I prefer? Not sure exactly what the genres are... I like Melodic/operatic metal along the lines of Iron Maiden
6. Bands I prefer? Jag Panzer, Iron Maiden, HammerFall, AC/DC, Megadeth, Recon, Stryper, Bride, Gothic Knights, Sonica Arctica, Judas Priest, Galloglas, Dofka, Jorn
7. Things I love? my family, Jesus, metal, Yuengling black and tan, beef, and Metal
8. Things I hate? I really dislike metal that they growl or sounds like they are stabbed in the guts while belching. No offence to any of you all who do, it's just not my cup of tea.
9. Favorite concert you've attended? Good luck finding a metal concert where i live, so the best concerts i've been to were Audio Adrenaline, and Pillar
