I'm curious to hear which way he goes on the new album. Hopefully he goes heavier; although, I love me a good ballad. :D

RE: STEELHEART completes NEW ALBUM!

That dude must have some sort of "testicle squeezing device" to hit those high notes... amazing voice... I'd love to hear his vocals on some heavier music.

RE: STEELHEART completes NEW ALBUM!
DZ2573 (9/16/2006)
Hmmm.. I do recall That the song WE ALL DIE YOUNG was on an album that He had . BUT i cant be sure if it was before or after this incident or even after ROCK STAR . This was a cool band , I remember seeing them back in 89 or 90 ..
That guy can WAIL . I'll check at home but Im sure i have the full version of that tune.
Here's the timeline:
The accident was in '92.
'We All Die Young' is on the album 'Wait' released in '96.
Rock Star was in 2001.

I didn't realize they put out another album after 'Tangled in Reins' in '92, but apparently 'Wait' was huge in Asia and not so big in Europe or the states. So they haven't released an album since '96.

RE: STEELHEART completes NEW ALBUM!

Hmmm.. On Halloween night, at McNichols Arena in Denver, Colorado, Steelheart was performing "Dancing in the Fire" from the "Tangled in Reins" album when a horrible event struck. Matijevic decided to climb a lighting truss which was for some reason improperly secured. He failed to climb the rig and also failed to dodge the 1000 pound piece of equipment, which hit him in the back of the head, driving him face first into the stage. The outcome of the accident was a broken nose, cheekbone, jaw, twisted spine, and much memory loss. Astoundingly, Matijevic found the strength to walk off the stage and was immediately taken to the hospital. Steelheart ended in Denver that night in a unique but terrible way."

RE: STEELHEART completes NEW ALBUM!

Wow, Steelheart. That name is a blast from the past. I agree, he was one helluva singer. It will be interesting to hear how his voice has changed over the years. If it is anything like the songs from Rock Star that will be just fine with me. I really like And We All Die Young. Great song.

STEELHEART completes NEW ALBUM!

I just read this on blabbermouth; the album will be released in early spring of 2007. Michael Matijevic is one of the greatest vocalist ever. We haven't heard anything from him since the early 90s excluding the vocals on 'Rock Star' and Steel Dragon RULED! I wish they were a real band. I hope everyone else is as excited as I.
