Gwar's would better be categorized as a glossy, polished thrash sound rather than any hardcore or metalcore term. Moreover, anyone who thinks they know about this band should pick up any of their last releases, which have all been really good.

Incompetent? No. They just want to do their own thing and not follow trends or style, but rather just mash them all up.

Gwar is definitely not a hardcore or metalcore band. They sounds like a terribly incompetent crossover band.

GWAR isn't metalcore. They are some amalgamation of several metal genres.

I know what GWAR sounds like. They were definitely never thrash or crossover.

Their newer stuff sounds just like a lot of other metalcore bands out there.

Personally, I'd sooner kill myself than go to a GWAR show. I know what their shows are like, I don't really see what's so great about it. A live show doesn't mean anything to me if I think the music sucks.

GWAR is one hell of a live show. I've seen them 15x and recommed them to anyone who enjoys heavy metal and concerts. I love them to death. And they are metal!!!!!! Or GWARcore!!!!

their early stuff is punkish/thrash, crossover thrash i think. their newer stuff is just plain metal...i think. i havent listened to gwar in a whie. i still like em. silly lil' band

Well all I can say is the show I went to was great except that part where they decided to jack off a giant penis on the crowd that was almost bad if I would have been hit with the cum.

Personally I think GWAR's definitely getting back on track. While the new one is good, I rank War Party to be the best one since their mid-90s albums. Then again I'm not sure if they've ever lost it, since their live shows have been consistent through out the years (this is purely hear say as those damn Scumdogs haven't graced this frozen land with their kidness).

i gave it a listen and i liked it alot. they coved an alice cooper song "schools out" which wasnt that bad. More towards metal sound which is good.

now i wanna hear what everyone else thinks
