The only Opeth album I wouldn't recommend is Orchid, their first. Aside from avoiding Orchid, I'd say to leave Damnation for later since that one is all melodic rock and zero metal. It's not bad, but it's definitely not a good place to start.

Still Life hasn't been mentioned yet, but that is a good one too.

RE: Opeth

Morningrise. Their latin jazz influences were at their most prominent on this album. Beautiful/haunting melodies, awesome songwriting, and an incredible rhythm section. The bass work is insane

RE: Opeth

My favorite is Blackwater Park. Absolute classic in my opinion. Watershed is the new one and is very good. Deliverance has a killer title track. My Arms Your Hearse I think is underrated, and Demon of the Fall is evil. I love it.

Opeth

Any Opeth fans here, I just got into them here recently, I got their album Ghost Reveries, its pretty dang good. any sugestions on what album to get next from them?
