I thought "Temples of Ice" was a cool album title, but a really crappy album.....My favorite VENOM album would have to be the debut, Welcome to Hell. But everything besides TOI was great.

Great band! I was at a party in October 1983, where someone called the local Top 40 station here requesting "Vomit Of The Gods" by Venom. The DJ TOTALLY FREAKED OUT, saying "We'll play that when Hell freezes over!! We'd lose our license!! I'd lose my job!!".

I love Buried Alive. I performed a music-less rendition as kind of a monologue before many people at a pre-college program talent show. I made at least five people shit themselves that night. :)

You could tell the metalheads from the non-metalheads in the crowd because the non-metalheads froze in fear while the metalheads laughed their asses off. Good times.

Prime Evil is suprisingly good. In fact, it's one of their most cohesive releases. New vocalist Tony Dolan (?) fills Cronos' shoes nicely.

Not really black metal but they did coin the phrase and pave the way for this style of music. Anyways great band. I was huge into these fuckers during high school. I actually got to see them last year on their Metal Black tour. Not bad setlist really. Could have done with out the new shit and it would have been nice to see the original line up and not just Cronos but I shouldn't complain so much. hah

"Black Metal" has had one of the greatest impacts on metal as far as creating a new subgenre and influencing metal's image goes. Venom alone helped make metal more awesome than it already was! They've never sold out or weakened the quality of their music over the years.

Fancy words aside, Venom rules.
