AMAZING ALBUM. It reeks of thrash and also stinks of traditional metal underpinnings. Fantastic.

RE: Overkill

HELL YEAH! I saw Overkill play last October at the Pearl room! They played a great set and I caught one of D.D.'s picks. Overkill is another essential for any thrash fan. I swear Blitz is gonna keep making music until he dies on stage.

RE: Overkill
Beer Drinker and Hell Raiser (3/7/2007)
For my money the Overkill albums that are must haves are: the first 2, Feel The Fire and Taking Over. Another must have is Horrorscope.
I agree. FtF, TO and Horrorscope is where it is at. TYoD and UtI are good. I've always had a soft spot for FtUaB. The new one, ReliXIV is pretty good too.

I really think these guys have gotten over looked. Everyone mentions the big four of thrash, but Overkill is easily the 5th (tied with Testament IMO).

RE: Overkill

For my money the Overkill albums that are must haves are: the first 2, Feel The Fire and Taking Over. They have some poor album's, but the good outweigh the bad. First 5 albums and the Killbox 13 are my favourite studio albums. Live album Wrecking Everything is a fucking killer album and should be checked out.

RE: Overkill

Don't forget that DVD, as it's a thrashtastic release. The audience in it seems a bit lacking (wrong kind of a venue I suppose, as there's a quite a distance between them and the band) though, but everything else is pure entertainment.

RE: Overkill

I never got Under the Influence :crying: The dude that I bought it from refunded my money though, so I bought Years of Decay.

RE: Overkill
thestranger (5/7/2006)
I bought my first Overkill CD (Under the Influence) on Friday from Amazon. The rest of their albums are very different but are worth a listen. I really enjoyed Necroshine through RelIX.

RE: Overkill

I bought my first Overkill CD (Under the Influence) on Friday from Amazon. One of the best live bands I've seen too. So much energy on stage and the thrash makes for an intense show.

Anyways recomendations:
In the vain of Bloodletting since you dug that I suggest:RelixIV, Necroshine, Killbox 13

And there older thrash material: Feel the Fire, Taking Over, Under the Influence, Years of Decay and Horrorscope are musts.

Also these albums are worth getting as well: W.F.O. and Killing Kind

RE: Overkill
SteveSaks (2/14/2006)
bloodletting is probably there best "newer" cd...also check out..."From the underground and below"..It might even be better than Bloodletting..hard to decide which one..I like more
Sweet... The later albums are heavier and more thrash oriented. Their best earlier one is 'Taking Over' check out" Powersurge , Electro-Violence..very catchy, the 'Under The Influence ' album has a few good ones as well..'Shred' .."We came to shred!"..lol..brings back memories..:D

RE: Overkill

Start with the first one and go from there!

No, seriously, the first one, Feel the Fire, is great.
