Besides being a metalhead, I am also an extreme computer tech geek dude.. So, I thought why not start a forum where we could discuss computing and technical topics... and who knows, probably even provide some assistance in these areas, to fellow LivingForMetal.com members.

Hey, cool idea. I work for the enemy... I mean federal government (Treasury department) as n IT specialist but the title is very misleading. I really don't know a whole lot. Just enough to get me by. So anywhere I can get assistance or hints n stuff is cool by me.

Here is a little history about good ole 'Bare'
1. I went to college for Electronics / Robotics & Instrumentation
2. Started learning some programming languages along the way
3. Worked Tech Support at Gateway (right out of college)
4. Eventually started working for a software company called SAP & travelled the United States for 2 years as a Technical Consultant... This was my dream job..
5. Now I'm the Corporate IT Director for a Pharmacutical Sales and Distribution company... pretty fun stuff (servers, large databases, etc...)
6. I've been thinking about the LivingForMetal.com concept for years. I started working on it seriously about 6 months ago. It has been truly live for about 3 weeks (with the Online Store).. This project is very gratifying to me & I look forward to what it brings in the upcoming years...
And all the while.. I was listening to Metal!!!
So, in other words... I love discussing techncial stuff.. So, make as many topics in here as you want... and I'll help with any that I can...

I went to school for database management (Oracle) but the degree is worthless. Never really got to use anything I learned, which was minimal. Most of everything I learned was on the job learning. SQL queries, mostly, but some Microsoft Access database creation. That was almost 2 years ago and in my current position I hardly do anything with SQL and absolutely zero with Access. I hate it. I actully was decent with what I knew and I thought that was why I was hired. But alas, I keep getting shafted and given crap assignments.
Anyway, enough whining. If anybody needs assistance with Oracle SQL I still know a little bit. But then again, most people are more knowledgable than me so I might be the one asking for help.

| Not to bust in on the conversation you two are having but off topic: Voodoo my father used to work for the treasury department in IT for a few years (he bounced between IT and collection a lot over his 30+ years working there.). Small world! Last few years before he retired last April he traveled and taught training classes mostly though. Do you live in the South? You might have crossed paths if yes. Ok since I busted in, I should say I'm an Analytical chemist so I'm kinda REQUIRED to have more than average computer workings. Plus I own a very sucessfull online business on the side. (I'm so proud of myself!) I doubt I could help, but you guys seem to have everything covered! I personally love website designing!
