Ovation

Although, I think they are a little on the expensive side.  But they are very high quality.

An acoustic for a beginner I wouldn't go into to high a $$ range. Ovations are great but the rounded body takes a while to get used to .That guitar is strictly a performers guitar .Sounds excellent and plays great but I think You'd be well off with a Yamaha or a newer brand.

I just went to Sam Ash and got a great deal on a 12 string acoustic from carlo robelli an extension of brownsville guitars and it's a nice acoustic plus the 6 strings were decent as well. you can check em out here

http://www.samash.com/catalog/showitem.asp?ItemID=38331&SourceType=BestSeller

I would stick to something under 200 bucks for now .At least till u get used to an acoustic.I'd hate for u to spend so much and then just have it sit there. Cuz I remember when I was starting out . I'd jam on it for a bit But I'd always get back to my electric..I just love distortion ..lol

Yeha don't get an Ovation... they're too expensive for what they are... (i don't like them, but that doesn't mean they're bad guitars). Do what DZ said, get a Yamaha or a smaller newer company, make sure it's a steel string (they're harder to play, thus they improve your playing ten-fold), and buy a medium guage string, not a light, otherwise you'll take forever to decide what type of string you like.

I learned on an old yamaha eterna acoustic, i still have it, and still play it. I beat the shit out of that guitar and she still sings beautifully. plus they're only 175 canadian brand new.

I know we've never met and you'll probably never read this.
There are certain things your voice does to me, it makes me feel the ground
and sky again.
How sad it is when you spill your guts on the paper.
It only neglects you and never relieves.
In every corner and space I search for you,
I've only found your vocal cords.
Hate that I'm never certain of what needs what most.
All day your songs spin me into a romance repeatedly to the sky.
Scream over and over again repeatedly to the sky.
In every corner and space I search for you,
I've only found your vocal cords.
Hate that I'm never certain of what needs what most.
