Just kidding about the Dimebag.

Ok though, Bare maybe you would know this or DZ! Okay,

I was lookin at some digitech tubescreamers that were pretty cheap, and they sound sweet. But, whould it be better to buy a Maxon that has the same tonal versatility with my guitar, but i'm paying out the ass?! I need something diffrent because my set up right now, really just isn't cutting it. Any ideas on some sweet Wah pedals i could use? I was lookin at the new rocktron Tri-wah, but i dunno. ok any ideas please post in all your knowledgable glory!!

NIce guitar .. so u have Seymour duncans and u want to add a tube screamer .

With the Marshall you'll get a nice edgy tone  as for the MAXON ..

I tend to stay away from fairly new products . As i usually find ..there just ain't no beating an original. The digitech screamers have been around and I don't see many complaints .

My best advice is to grab your axe and hit the biggest dealership u have around . You should have no problem just walking in and asking to try some pedals out .. just hook up to any old marshall. And see which WAH pedal u like. Most places will be more than happy to oblige . I buy here at Hermes in my town all the time .And they always have people just trying stuff out .I prefer morely and I am also using a digitech RP80 for different tones and I have an old proseries wah from Morely .Look for a silent switching wah when buying a wah ..make sure it doesn't hiss or pop when switching channels as many often do.

To be brutally honest unless you know exaactly what kind of wah sound u are looking for it may take u a while before u find what u like. There are several different wahs . You have the Cry baby -which is an older hendrix sound (depending on your settings)

then u have a boutique wah ...which offers a wider sweep of lows and highs ..(this is a more modern wah )

And then u have a Full Range wah ...-offers a full range of highs and lows ..also a bit harder to control .. Mostly metal bands use this wah .. since it can reach screaming pitches when the settings are correct (dimebag )

Some whas offer all types of other ranges and distortions or Flange , etc

Overall what kind of tone are u looking for >??????

ever thought of trying an RP 80 . very good for finding sounds and recording ??

I too have the Marshall 30DFX. I use a Frantone PeachFuzz Fuzzbox and a Vox Wah. I tried out the Dunlop and Morley and found that the Vox sounds way better.

...And you will know my name is the LORD when I lay my vengeance upon the.

Thanks, I love her, I would'nt trade her in for anything. Yes I do have Seymour Duncans on mine, which is pretty damn nice, I've found with those pickups, you can hit  wide range of tones just coming out of the amp. Which is nice because on the right settings, I get a perfect bluesy tone, right out of my amp. I'm very paticular when it comes to my sound. But what i'm looking for is a tone similar to Kirk Hammets earlier peices, but with a tad bit more crunch, so it kinda gives it a southern flare. You may be thinking that i want something like Zakk Wyldes sound he uses most often, but, no nothing like that. So i'm gonna have to do some more searching when it comes to that.

As for the Wah, LOL, I can't stand Cry-baby wahs, alot of people love em' but i've found it doesnt give me the range i'm looking for. But, i've been lookin at an Ibanez Wheeping Demon, wah, I consider it full range, but its not quite that hard to control, plus it fits in there with what i want. If you've ever herd the original version of "Layla", Duane Allman was the one to come up with that very highpitched screaming/crying in about the middle of the song. How and the hell did he do that? lol, I mean any wah i've ever tried or used I could never get that much out of it.

What/who makes the RP 80?No i'll have to look into it.

Well , The solo in LAYLA that duane plays has nothing to do with any effects . All slide. not even a WAH on that .

AS for a Kirk Hammet tone . from what I recall (memory totally sux) . A good Marshall will give u a close sound. I believe Bass at about 9 -   mids at about 1 -- and crank the treble to about 9 or 10 . But I belive he uses MESA boogies now.

ANd a good Dunlop WAH for the solos is most of what he uses ..along with a tubescreamer(Ibanez)

It helps to have HUmBuckers too. But you want a Southern Crunch .. ?? HHm... I'd Have to say working around A kirk Hammet tone is kinda tuff. for a bluesy sound .. i'd still fatten up the mids and try  retro sounding pedal.Any thing Ibanez makes is good. I'll have to check out that wheeping demon pedal this weekend. My income tax is coming and i'm a gonna do me some shopping ...hehehe!!!!!
