My favorite is Blackwater Park. Absolute classic in my opinion. Watershed is the new one and is very good. Deliverance has a killer title track. My Arms Your Hearse I think is underrated, and Demon of the Fall is evil. I love it.

Morningrise. Their latin jazz influences were at their most prominent on this album. Beautiful/haunting melodies, awesome songwriting, and an incredible rhythm section. The bass work is insane

What you used to love now, you're gonna adore. With Charmin Ultra, less is more. Cha Cha Cha, Charmin.

Blackwater Park and Deliverance are both amazing. The only Opeth album I wouldn't recommend is Orchid, their first. Aside from avoiding Orchid, I'd say to leave Damnation for later since that one is all melodic rock and zero metal. It's not bad, but it's definitely not a good place to start.

Still Life hasn't been mentioned yet, but that is a good one too.

Being a mild Opeth fan at best, I would recommend Blackwater Park and Deliverance as the next logical step in exploring their discography.
