Hello,

I am currently working on a project for heavy metal guitar equipment. I am currently trying to do a customer and market analysis. I was curious if anyone here would be able to guide me towards some statistical information in regards to the deomographics(age, location, ect..) of metal fans. Sales statistics would be rather helpful as well to determine the market for metal. Any statistics or analysis of some form......

Wow, I have no idea.  Maybe try contacting Guitar Center, but I'm not sure how much information they would give up.

Or you could contact company's such as Gibson or Fender to see if they could divulge the best markets, etc.  But again, not sure if they would give out that kind of information.

Good luck.

Thanks. I will go down that route. I think I might stop by some music outlets as well.

Guitar Center's website has consumer reviews on all the equipment. you should be able to find something there.
other than that, the above statement would be the easiest way to find out.

Some metal magazines, such as Metal Maniacs, distribute surveys in their magazines to get direct feedback from readers about their reading and spending habits. They might not want to or be allowed to share their data, but it might be worth a shot. Some stores, such as Eides in Pittsburgh, cater almost exclusively to fans of extreme music and may provide you with sales data as well.
