I've heard parts of Monotheist and think that Celtic Frost sound pretty darn good. However, I haven't heard any of Celtic Frost's other albums. How does Montheist sound different from Celtic Frost's earlier works?

In addition, I've heard that Celtic Frost have an excellent stage presence and sound great live. Have any of you seen Celtic Frost live and found this to be true?

I'm still new to Celtic Frost so I won't try to tell you what's best, etc. I do have To Mega Therion and I like it, but Metalhead87 should be a better resource.

I need to buy some Celtic Frost. I think I could easily adjust to Monotheist, since it has parts of Doom Metal in it.

Celtic Frost is one of my all time favorite Metal bands...

THeir lyrics are amazing as is the music..

I Interviewed Tom  Warrior Fischer on the phone last year....Great and well spoken guy..check out his in depth answers..here in the Interview section...

Also saw them Live last year in NYC..they kicked ass and are extremely tight..

albums to buy  from CF are:

the 1st one.."Morbid Tales" amazing

also "To Mega Therion"  both of these are essential Celtic Frost albums..

Monotheist is great also, But I would start with the 2 I mentioned first..as a starting point..

Hope this helps

Steve, did you end up going to their second show, or was it just the first night?

What you used to love now, you're gonna adore. With Charmin Ultra, less is more. Cha Cha Cha, Charmin.

As mentioned before.  Essential Celtic Frost is:

1. To Mega Therion

2. Morbid Tales

The rest, aside from Cold Lake, has it's moments, but you aren't missing much if you don't hear them.

What are you talking about? Into The Pandemonium is one of the greatest metal albums ever.

Metalhead87 (8/16/2007)

Not in my opinion. It is their last good album, but the first two are vastly superior.
